We’ve really enjoyed learning about living things and their habitats. We learnt what it means to be living and sorted items into the categories living, once lived, never lived.

We used different materials to make our own habitats and discussed what may live there.

We explored the different adaptations of living things by carrying out different investigations such as using fat as an insulator and seeing how wax affects the evaporation of water.

We had fun looking for microhabitats and identifying the different minibeasts we saw. We ollected some woodlice and investigated which conditions they preferred (dry and dark, damp and dark, dry and light or dry and dark).
