For children due to start our Nursery in September 2026, below you will find some useful information about our school which will hopefully answer any questions you may have. Nursery Admissions

We have a well-established purpose built Nursery with 30 part time and a number of full time places available. We have excellent indoor and outdoor facilities for our children.  We have highly experienced early years practitioners consisting of a teacher, a higher level teaching assistant (formerly Nursery Nurse) and classroom assistants.

Children are admitted to Greenbank Nursery following their 3rd birthday if a place is available.

15  HOURS (AM or PM sessions)

All children in the UK are entitled to 15 hours free Early Years provision.
At Greenbank we offer these hours as either 5 x mornings or 5 x afternoon sessions:
AM sessions run from 8:40am to 11:40am and PM sessions run from 12:30pm to 3:30pm

30  HOURS (Wraparound provision)

Some parents will find they are eligible for 30 hours Early Years provision for their child. School will need your 30 Hour Code and National Insurance Number in order to enrol your child for 30 hours provision. If you do not meet the eligibility criteria, parents/carers have the option to pay for the additional hours.

To view eligibility criteria and/or apply to see if you are entitled to this provision please click on the following link: https://www.gov.uk/apply-30-hours-free-childcare.

Please contact the school office if you wish to apply for a Nursery place for your child.

For working parents/carers who need additional provision before or after school hours, Information about Breakfast and After School Club can be found here:

Developing Independence

Being independent in personal care help build a child’s confidence and self-esteem. We would like the children to be able to:

  • Take off their own shoes and socks
  • Recognise their own name, clothes and belongings.
  • Put on, fasten and take off their coat for outdoor learning.
  • Recognise when they are hungry, thirsty or need to use the toilet.
  • Use the toilet and wash their hands independently
  • Sit quietly and listen to a story or instructions
  • Follow instructions and today away their toys and belongings.
  • Ask questions.
  • Follow routines.
  • Socialise and make friends.

Nursery Uniform

Girls and boys to wear:

  • Greenbank sweatshirt/ Maroon sweatshirt
  • White polo top (with or without logo)
